GenXY

GenXY is a grassroots association centered towards providing support to GLBTQ adolescents and youth. We are committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of GLBTQ youth and improving the diversity our community through effective action. With over 40 local groups covering GA, KY, NC, SC, VA, WI you will be sure to see our presence in the community at some point and look forward to meeting you!  Check out our interactive calendar for a meeting in your area!

Through the support of local communities GenXY offers an array of support for GLBTQ youth.  Our support includes but not limited to free meals, group counseling sessions, homeless youth resources, one-on-one peer counseling sessions, runaway counseling assistance, support groups, and many more activities to help GLBTQ youth become the best they can be!  All services are offered free-of-charge and we are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year!

In the upcoming months you will notice many changes with GenXY.  In June 2010 GenXY will be adding 15 more GLBTQ Youth Groups in TN and VA which will help fill the void in many rural area where GLBTQ youth often have no resource to turn to.  In January 2010 we began scouting properties for The GenXY Youth Shelter. This will be more than a shelter though! In one building we will encompass case work management, a counseling area, foster/group home services, GLBT friendly homeless shelter, a GLBT youth judge free 'hang out', and of course our administrative offices. The shelter is designed to have room for 25 homeless youth at any time and be able to board up to 15 GLBT youth who are in a Level II or Level III group home setting.
